What you can accomplish from 10pm-2am!

Ahhh, the quiet and stillness of my house from 10pm-2am last night allowed me to finish this quilt. I started it before I took my class, but thought I would use some of what I had learned. Well, trying to quilt a 6foot x 6foot quilt is a bit harder than a lap quilt. So I opted to do a quilted border again added some buttons, put on the binding and called it a night. The pattern is called Spiral Strips and it is in the book called Jelly Roll Quilts. I changed it a bit by adding two different sized borders instead of one and the added touch of the buttons. I used the jelly roll called Blossom by Urban Chicks and only had a few bits and pieces left out of the entire jelly roll. I would have photographed it last night, but had to wait until my invisible helpers were awake to hold it up for me to take a few quick images. Have a great Day!

MY SPACES

Since I often get asked about my work spaces, I thought I would share. I recently redid the "Blood Red Room" as my husband would call it. It used to be the kids playroom, red walls, black frames with b/w images, that still have not found a new home yet. I did kick them out a while back but just recently redid the room. I saw a photo of a fabric designer, Heather Bailey's work studio and wanted something similar just on a smaller scale.

So this image is my sewing table, it is a kitchen set that I bought at my sister in laws neighbors garage sale for $25, such a steal! I was originally going to refinish, but love the shabby look and most of all love the chairs. So that is wear the sewing happens!

Next are two pieces of furniture that I repainted with my husband's air compressor and power spray paint gun....go power tools! These two pieces are great for storage and look cute with shelves to put nick knacks, books, thread etc. on. Also love my cute shelf that I sprayed and bought $1 ribbon at Michael's for a neat little accent. Just ignore that tall white fan back there.

On the other side of the room, I have great cabinets for storage, album stuff, photo stuff, order storage and shelves that go all the way across the room. I made the wonderful curtains, because my husband and myself were tired of looking at all the prop stuff. So you can see behind the curtains the mess it hides.

Last, but definitely not least, the place where I spend hours upon hours. You think it would be cleaner, but it's not. Oh and look the weather map is up on my computer screen, since lately I have to live by it! So there is a glimpse in to my little working space.

Have a great Day!

Forever

Seems like forever since I did a scrapbook page. Of course even though I have half of last year to finish and the rest of this year, I decide to scrap the few images I took on Father's Day. Hey if I was ever caught up, then I wouldn't have anything to do!!!

Have a great Day!

GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN!

Had to share these amazing young ladies. The first image pretty much sums up our session....FUN! We laughed, and laughed and really had a great time and captured some wonderful images of them both. This is just a tiny bit of how many great images mom is going to have to pick from. I enjoyed meeting you both and appreciated all moms help.

FIRST REAL QUILT

This is my first "REAL QUILT"! Yes, I know I have made a bunch before, but not like this. I just finished taking a wonderful month long quilting class in Crystal River and man did I learn so much. Everything I have done in the past was from reading in a book and that is fine, but learning hands-on is far better. I actually quilted the top with a pattern and learned how to put binding on the edges something I never knew how to do. I am glad the trips to Crystal River every Monday evening are done, but I can not thank my instructor enough Ms. "M" we will call her, for being so patient, happy and willing to share her talents with me.

Have a great Day!

RAIN, RAIN!

Finally, so much needed rain. You could almost hear the plants, flowers and birds saying thank-you. I am not so sure if this guy was saying thank-you. The kids came running for me to get a photo of this huge butterfly that was drying it's wings out on our back porch. You may not be able to see it on blogger, but there were huge water droplets all over his wings. Beautiful butterfly that we observed for a few moments and then he was off on another adventure!

As I Sit Here.....

As I sit here a little bit after midnight, tears fill my emotional eyes. While I get teacher gifts ready, clients files uploaded and wait for the last batch of cupcakes to cool, I can not help but think someday this chaos will be gone. There will be a time soon, where cupcakes won't be cool anymore and neither will eating lunch with mom at school. So I sit here and browse the images I took tonight from my son's honor roll ceremony and think how much I have to take in every minute. To be thankful that both of my kids have done so wonderful this year at a new school. To be grateful to both of their awesome teachers for making their transitions not only easy, but enjoyable. To be happy with what is right now, because you can never have now again. I am so very proud of both of you!

Terrific "T"

I am posting this sneak peak for mom a little bit later than I said, sorry. All I can say, is one year old Mr. "T" , mom and grandma, drove up from Mt. Dora to have a session and boy is mom going to be in trouble. You could not ask for anymore personality, he was loving the camera more to come later.

9 DAYS OLD

This little bundle was 9 days old, and awake and alert for the entire session. Luckily after a little bit of a snack he drifted off so I could capture those sweet, sleepy images.

FUN WEEKEND

I hope everyone had a fun weekend and spent some time with family or friends. I thought I would share a few images from our camping trip to the Suwanee River. The kids had a blast at the river jumping off the limestone rock, not really as crazy as it looks. We also took a hike to the actual Suwanee Springs where the water comes from and captured a few neat images to share. Just a short video, not so great from across the river of the kids jumping.

Craft Nut

Alright, I know I already shared today, but wanted to just share my first block completed. I am one of those impatient, instant gratification type of people, so long term projects are hard for me to stay on track with. This has definitely been one of those projects, but I am going to keep plugging away slowly and hopefully in the coming months I will have an embroidered quilt to share with you all. Oh, and thanks Tricia for the kind words!

FAIRIES

A little bit of a big project I have been working on for about two months now, called Truly Scrumptious ( available at treasuredthreads.typepad.com) . It is little hand embroidered fairies, 9 to be exact 7 are finished and then they will be blocks placed insides of a patchwork type quilts. Something to do while watching American Idol, since I can never seem to just do nothing. Thought I would just share a little of my embroidery passion with you since these fairies are so cute, just like some of the fairy princesses I am lucky to capture in images.
